My last high school semester is about to start next week. I don’t even know how to feel about it. It just feels so surreal. My feelings are all over the place. As i’m getting the last few assignments turned in for this semester I am so excited but sad that my high school career is coming to an end. Although I am kind of sad I am really excited and looking forward to what life has in stored for me after high school. I have been working hard to finish the last year strong. It has been very stressful but totally going to be worth it when I graduate in about 4 months. As i’m finishing my classes this semester I have been working on my senior project hoping that I can complete it early before spring. I have been working hard so I can complete within next month. I know that it will only make it easier for me to get it out of the way instead of waiting for spring time. It has been a fun time reflecting back on all the memories at LHS. As I think about what I have to do, I am really nervous to present. I have always been nervous when it comes to presenting in front of people. I have been practicing at home so that I can be as prepared as possible. I am hoping that all goes well. I feel like the whole process was pretty easy because it was mainly about me, what i’ve done at Lindsay High School and my post-high school plans. As my first semester is coming to an end I am really excited but nervous. I still can’t believe that it’s 2017 and that i’m going to be graduating in 4 months. It has been a good 4 years here but I am excited to see the next chapter in my life.

Only six more weeks until the first semester of my senior year is over. We are only three months into the school year and I feel like it’s been way longer. So far I am passing all my classes. We have had two grading periods and I was able to manage seven out of seven. I am proud of myself for staying on pace and not procrastinating. The class I struggled with a little bit was Careers in Education because we do so much work and cover a lot of stuff in one class period. Even though that class is hard to keep up with, Careers in Education is my favorite class. I think it’s my favorite class because it’s teaching me about child development and how to become a teacher. I find this class interesting because I want to become a teacher after high school. This class teaches me the steps for my career. My classes are pretty easy because I am not taking hard classes. I’m glad I didn’t take hard classes because it would make me even more stressful.
Throughout the three months I have been working on my senior project. I have been adding things to it and fixing it up as I go. I just signed up to do my exit interview early which means in January I have to have my weebly page all done and ready. I chose to do it early for many reasons. If I do it now I don’t have to worry about it in the springtime and it’s one less thing to worry about. I am really nervous about my exit interview so if I do it early and I don’t pass I still have more time to do it again and the next time I do it I will know what to expect. Hopefully I don’t have to do it again though. I am currently working on my clubs and activities page. I still have to add pictures and write about the clubs and activities i’ve been involved in throughout my four years. On monday I applied for COS. A representative from COS came to lhs to help us with our application. She was really helpful and helped me finish my application and choose the correct major. She also helped me do my FSA-ID which is really important for me because I want financial aid while i’m going to COS. She will be back in February to help people with their FAFSA and I still have to do mine. I plan to stay at COS for two years and get my Associates Degree and then transfer out to Fresno State. I want to major in child development because I want to work with preschoolers before I transfer out to Fresno State. It’s so crazy to think that I only have seven more months until i’m done with high school. It feels so surreal that I’ll be graduating in seven months. I’m really excited about moving on to college and learning about my career and children's. I love kids and I can’t wait to teach little kids after I get my degree. Most of my peers don’t like school but for me I love learning and in high school it’s really hard to learn what you’re interested in so the fact that I get to choose a major and study that makes me really excited for college. This year I chose leadership as an elective. Being in ASB it has kept me busy because we are the students that plan out every activity held at lhs. We had homecoming week last month and rivalry week after that. It was so much fun planning with my peers and making it the best homecoming and rivalry week. Being in ASB has helped my leadership and communication skills. ASB let’s me go outside of my comfort zone and helps me get involved in school and our community. Overall, the first semester is going by fast as I think back to these three months. It’s only getting closer to graduation and time is flying by so fast. All I can say it that my emotions are all over the place. August 15, 2016 was my last first day of high school! My emotions were all over the place. The night before I kept tossing and turning because I was so excited. I couldn’t sleep at all. I woke up bright and early before anyone else and woke my family up. When I walked in that morning I was nervous like everyone else. I had butterflies in my stomach. I was nervous about my classes, graduating and nervous just in general. As I was walking on campus I started thinking back to when I was a Freshman and how it flew by so fast. I started thinking about how big and mature the seniors were back then. I don’t even think that I look like senior. We only get smaller each year.
As the year starts I have to be working on my senior project and make sure it’s finished on time. This week I will be calling Lincoln Elementary School and make an appointment for my Job Shadow. I will be job shadowing a Kindergarten teacher. I chose Lincoln because I went there when I was younger so i’m excited to go back and visit as well. I will also be working on my journals from time to time and make sure that it gets finished as well. This year I am happy with my schedule. I’m only worried about Government/Econ this year. I also got Careers in Education and I am so happy. I love that class and hope I learn a lot from it. I also got Leadership and that will be so much fun because I get to be involved with the school. Since it is my Senior year I am excited for all the activities that come with it. On friday we will be having a Back to School rally. Next week we will have Senior Sunrise. I’m looking forward to that as well. After graduation I plan on getting a summer job and then applying to COS. I will be going to COS to get my AA. After that I plan to go to Fresno State and get my bachelors Degree. I would also like to be certified to teach in public schools by then. I really want to become a teacher because I love kids. I have been working in Children's Ministry at church for about 2 years now and I just love hanging out with kids. I would love to become a teacher and help kids learn what they need to learn. This is the beginning of my senior year and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me. I will be pushing myself to stay on pace. I know that this year will fly by so I will make it the best year. Within a blink of an eye I will be walking and getting my diploma in my cap and gown. Junior year is over. The year that we have all been waiting for is about to start in less than 2 months, SENIOR year! Junior year went by so fast I can't even imagine how fast senior year will be. Well, junior year was the year that really changed me. Throughout the year there was ups and downs. I lost some friends and made some new ones that made this year memorable. I really challenged myself to stay on pace in all of my classes this year and honestly I'm so happy that I passed all my classes. I plan to keep it up for senior year. I am really thankful for the teachers that I had this year. Ms. Torres and Mr. Dussan in particular. They both have helped me outside of school hours and I'm really thankful that they put in their time and effort because if it wasn't for them then I would probably not have finished their classes. This school year I really learned how to manage my time wisely. Trying to stay on top of school work and playing sports is not the easiest thing to do. Learning how to manage my time in high school will really prepare me for college. Also, the PBS system here at LHS allowed me to go ahead of my classes this year and finish before the school year and gave me the opportunity to start the next course. I am so excited for senior year and all the activities that come with it. I will keep on pushing myself to be better in school and stay on pace for graduation.
